You've Gone Inside!

Writing

Glad you stopped by!

If you want to write for Go Inside, you can! Your work will be read by millions of people around the world and we're linked back from some of the hottest sites on the web. Send us your story ideas by touching this.

GO INSIDE! Every Go Inside author places the logo you see on the left on their homepage with a hotlink back to their article here. So if you see our logo on the Web -- slam on it -- and come on home!

Check out our Author Guidelines if you want to know more about our requirements for publication.  All articles and reviews must be at least 1,000 words or more.

While no writers are paid for their work here in Go Inside Magazine, many of the permanent staff use this magazine as their common, daily, touchstone for leaping into greater things.  Many of our writers got their first publication start right here in Go Inside, so don't worry if you don't know how to format an article or know how to write one -- we'll help you get started!

If you're looking to make yourself an expert on any topic, you can do that quickly and easily here in Go Inside Magazine simply by publishing articles on that topic!   The fact that Go Inside is not a vanity publication or your own personal website means that your work has to go through an extensive editorial review process and a peer review panel before publication.  That hard editorial scrutiny gives your articles an authentic "disinterested third party" stamp of approval upon publication and that counts for everything in the real world.

Our writers, after being first published and subsequently discovered in Go Inside Magazine, have been paid to write articles for Windows Magazine, BOOT, PC NOVICE and C\NET's BUILDER.COM to name a few.  We also count Fulbright Scholar Andreas Saugstad as one of our greatest successes.  Andreas graciously credits the work he originally published here in GO INSIDE Magazine as a major factor in helping him win that scholarship.  You, too, could have your discovered in Go Inside Magazine if you write with us.  Many of our writers have either signed deals for or published over 21 books and that list keeps growing.

Our writers have also been hired as Researchers, Technical Editors and Script Doctors after their work was discovered here in Go Inside Magazine.

Our writers have also written major television, theatrical and film projects and their awards list is simply incredible.  The beauty part is that all these writers are still with Go Inside after banging it big in the for-pay world!

The Masthead
If you're interested in a permanent staff position on our masthead, here are the requirements for achieving that hallowed status.

Virtual Interns
If you are a high school, college or university student looking for an exciting virtual internship or independent study program for credit, you might be interested in becoming a Go Inside Magazine Virtual Intern!

Contributing Editors
Contributing Editors are listed on our masthead once they have four published articles in Go Inside. A Contributing Editor is required to write at least one article every three months, which places them on track to be considered for a Senior Editor position in a year. If a Contributing Editor does not meet the "4 more articles in a year" requirement, they may be dropped from the masthead at the Publisher's discretion. The "one year clock" starts ticking the date of their fourth article publication. Contributing Editors who are dropped can re-apply for that masthead slot upon publication of the fourth of four new articles.

Senior Editors
Contributing Editors who have at least eight published articles in Go Inside Magazine will be eligible for consideration as a Senior Editor by the Publisher. Special Senior Editors selected by the Publisher also get a GOINSIDE.COM e-mail account in order to do their official Go Inside business correspondence and request NFR (not for resale) hardware/software in the name of the magazine. Senior Editors are required to write at least one new article per month in order to retain Senior Editor status on the GO INSIDE masthead. Senior Editors also help bring in new writing talent to the rich writer pool that is Go Inside magazine. Contributing Editors with more than eight published articles are not required to move up to the greater responsibility of a Senior Editor. Contributing Editors may stay in that masthead position by providing four new articles a year or by meeting other criteria in a special arrangement with the Publisher. Senior Editors also agree not to write for a similar publication.  Senior Editors have access to the private Senior Staff Site.

Managing Editors
Managing Editors are former Senior Editors who have proven themselves as writers who not only write "perfect" articles for Go Inside in style, content and formatting -- they also have the uncanny ability to help other writers craft their articles into better showpieces of talent and inspiration.  Managing Editors have the same privileges as Senior Editors with the additional responsibility of editing all GO INSIDE articles before publication. Another prime consideration for Managing Editor status is the ability to curry and encourage new writer participation in Go Inside Magazine. Managing Editors also agree not to write for a similar publication.  Managing Editors have access to the private Senior Staff Site.

Senior Managing Editors
Senior Managing Editors are former Managing Editors who have marked their tenure as Go Inside Managing Editors with deeds above and beyond normal expectation.  Senior Managing Editors are not chosen for this important position because of a single act -- their entire publication history, new section initiation and infusion of new writing blood are all weighted equally in consideration for becoming a Go Inside Magazine Senior Managing Editor.  Senior Managing Editors have the same privileges and requirements as Managing Editors except that they appear higher in the masthead totem. Senior Managing Editors also agree not to write for a similar publication.  Senior Managing Editors have access to the private Senior Staff Site.

Executive Editors
Executive Editors are former Senior Managing Editors who have increased their performance and dedication to Go Inside by inspiring Senior Managing Editors and the rest of the staff onto greater heights.  Executive Editors work on articles to ensure clarity and style.  Executive Editors have the same privileges and requirements as Senior Managing Editors except that they appear higher in the masthead totem.  Executive Editors also agree not to write for a similar publication.  Executive Editors have access to the private Senior Staff Site.

Emeriti
These special folks are former Editors who are no longer actively writing for Go Inside Magazine.  We honor them with this mark on our masthead forever so generations yet unborn can forever wallow in the glow of their outstanding and historic work.

The Go Inside Magazine Editor-in-Chief approves all articles and checks all articles for technical and factual accuracy before publication.
