Sheep shearing is one of the definitive pastimes rural Australians are famous for, and the show is an ideal stage for the display of the craft. In this arena, long-haired goats were partnered into pens, and then systematically sheared by skilled workmen before a live audience. Each goat carries a coat that weighs in excess of four kilograms, and it's odd to see them so lithe on their feet with their coats gone.
